Meet Dr. Deignan

Dr. Chris Deignan is an Associate Veterinarian at the Animal Hospital of North Charleston. He is a Mississippi native who relocated to Charleston in the Spring of 2023. Dr. Deignan has had a passion for animals since childhood and began his career in the veterinary field as a technician in 2008. He continued working at clinics in his hometown while earning his Bachelor of Science in Animal and Dairy Science from Mississippi State University (MSU) in 2015. Dr. Deignan then went on to attend MSU College of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 and graduated with honors. Following graduation, he spent a year in small animal general practice in his hometown of Columbus, Mississippi.

Over the years, Dr. Deignan has experienced the important role veterinarians have as public servants, and he has found great purpose through caring for animals and engaging with their owners. Aspects of veterinary medicine that he truly enjoys are client education, ophthalmology, preventive care, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Deignan enjoys fishing, going to the beach, and spending quality time at home.
