Meet Dr. Thompson

Dr. Andrew Thompson is an associate veterinarian at the Animal Hospital of North Charleston. Dr. Thompson earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University in 2017 and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George University in 2022. In addition to his education, Dr. Thompson completed his clinical training at The University of Georgia in 2021 and is Fear Free-certified. Dr. Thompson’s areas of professional interest include preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, neurology, and internal medicine.

Inspired by his love of animals, Dr. Thompson began working in the veterinary field in 2012 and says his favorite part is getting to see sick animals recover and return home to their families. Originally from Georgia, Dr. Thompson relocated to South Carolina in January of 2022 with his nine-year-old corgi mix named Stanley. Dr. Thompson adopted his cat Frankie, after a client found him on the side of the road. When he isn’t practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Thompson enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and spending time with his friends and his dog and cat.
