The staff of The Animal Hospital advocates the human animal bond. We are committed to providing compassionate care for our patients and clients by emphasizing the highest possible quality of life. We will provide the best client education helping to understand all aspects of pet health and preventative care. By practicing the highest ethical standards, we will remain dedicated to offering the best veterinary medicine for the optimal health of each animal.

Dr. Danielle Cain, DVM

Dr. Cain is originally from Long Island, NY where she grew up riding horses, rehabilitating wild animals with her family, and fostering stray dogs and cats. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Delaware with a focus on genetics and the aim of researching reproduction in endangered animals. While working as a Veterinary Technician, she fell in love with the profession and decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. Dr. Cain has worked extensively with turtles, has experience with reptiles and other exotics, and has a passion for wildlife rehabilitation. After Veterinary school, she completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship focused on dogs and cats at The Animal Hospital/Specialty Center of San Diego, and worked as a rotating companion animal Veterinarian for several California practices. In 2005, she relocated to Charleston, where she lives with her two adorable rescued cats, Una and Bagheera. As soon as she hasa yard, Dr. Cain would like to rescue a dog.

Dr. Kristin Ingram, DVM

Dr. Kristin Ingram was born in Murray, KY, and spent most of her childhood in southwestern and northern Virginia. Her father was born and raised in North Charleston, and she is a 4th generation Bishop England graduate, so she has always considered her beloved Charleston, SC, home. Growing up next door to a veterinarian and an entomologist, she was destined to go into a scientific field, and veterinary medicine became her dream. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Virginia Tech, graduating in 2004. She worked as a veterinary technician for a number of years after college, and also worked as a research assistant with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, under the guidance of the State Wildlife Veterinarian. She journeyed to the small island of St. Kitts to complete her DVM at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and while there also had the opportunity to participate in leatherback sea turtle research and sea turtle rehabilitation. She graduated from Ross University in September 2012, after completing her clinical year at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine.

She and her husband Jay have been married for 9 years, and they have two little girls, 2 dogs and a cat. She loves spending time with her family, reading, and watching college football (GO HOKIES!!!)!

Desiree, Practice Manager

With 18 years of experience, Desiree is certainly no newcomer to the veterinary field. Currently in the process of earning her B.A. in business management and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) Certification, Desiree keeps the Animal Hospital of North Charleston running smoothly for the staff that she views as incomparable and the absolute best. Although she is not a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or a Veterinary Technician, Desiree is an invaluable asset to the team. During her free time, Desiree enjoys riding and training horses and is interested in canine behavior. Her pug, Rufus, is the office mascot and can howl and sing along to opera music!

Megan, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Recently graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Trident Technical College, Megan is practicing her passion for the betterment of animals as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. While Megan has been working in the veterinary field for four years, the fellow veterinarians, technicians, and staff at The Animal Hospital of North Charleston have become less like coworkers and more like family. When away from the hospital, Megan savors time with friends and family, time at the beach, and being with Emmy Lou and Louie, her beloved canine family members.

Sara, Senior Veterinary Technician

Sara works as a Senior Veterinary Technician and takes the utmost pride in keeping the pets of North Charleston happy and healthy for the families that love them. Highly qualified, Sara earned a B.S. in Zoology from the State University of New York Oswego and now has 15 years of experience in practice. Reflecting her compassion, Sara volunteers at the Christian Animal Society fostering animals in need. Her adoration for animals does not end at the hospital! Sara's preferred breed is anything rescue! At home she cares for a Chihuahua, Shih Tzu/ Bichon mix, two cats, a cockatiel, fish, a turtle, and a gerbil.

Mandy, Veterinary Technician

Mandy has a fondness for all animals and finds fulfillment in treating animals as if they were her own. She attained her degree from Piedmont Technical College and is now working as part of our team as a Veterinary Technician. With over 14 years of practice, her experience and expertise shine through as she provides exceptional care for all clients and patients at the Animal Hospital of North Charleston. At home, Mandy rescued three animals, Josie a canine, and two felines, Ms. Kitty and Jack.

Tracy, Veterinary Technician

Always having a desire to help animals, Tracy has worked at several veterinary clinics since she was in high school. Realizing she wanted to pursue a career in the veterinary field, Tracy became a veterinary technician. Originally from Saratoga Springs, NY, Tracy now enjoys the South Carolina lifestyle with her two children. At home, Tracy enjoys spending time with all of her four-legged family members. She has three dogs, 2 cats and a horse! When Tracy is away from The Animal Hospital, she is happiest at the barn or the beach.

Stephanie, Veterinary Technician

Stephanie works as a veterinary technician and takes great pride in the care she provides for the hospital’s furry patients. A previous student at Trident Technical College, Stephanie also offers two years of emergency experience. Motivated to learn more about animal medicine, Stephanie is eager to work alongside the talented technicians and doctors at The Animal Hospital. A native to South Carolina for most of her life, she savors the beach and attending events around town. During her free time, Stephanie goes to the river with her forever friend, Jake, a sweet Pit bull and spends time with her six year old feline companion, Ms. Kitty.
